England preparations hampered by injuries
Fabio Capello's options for England's match against Germany in Berlin on Wednesday (November 19th) have been severely restricted by a spate of withdrawals.

Midfielder Frank Lampard is the latest to have pulled out, joining the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Steven Gerrard, Wes Brown, Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole, Ashley Cole and Emile Heskey on the sidelines.

However, this means that England fans can back their team to triumph against their fierce rivals at the attractive price of 5/2 with Ladbrokes and 3/1 with Betfair.

A home win, meanwhile, is priced at 11/10 with Ladbrokes and 6/5 with Betfair, and a draw at 9/4 with both bookmakers.

According to Capello, the injuries to his star players give their replacements the opportunity to impress and stake a claim to be included in the first team on a permanent basis.

"Our opponents Germany are always a very strong team, and when they play at home even more so," he said.

"Everyone has told me that it is not a friendly game against Germany, but I think this will be a friendly game. We will do some experiments and after this game I will know better some different players."

Players set to appear on Wednesday include Gabriel Agbonlahor and Wayne Bridge, Ashley Cole's perennial understudy for club and country.
