England favourites for Stanford payday
Kevin Pietersen's England have been installed as favourites to beat the Stanford Superstars in next week's lucrative Twenty20 match.

Each player stands to earn $1 million (£577,500) if they defeat the all-star team in Antigua on November 1st, with England strongly fancied according to UK bookmakers.

Both Ladbrokes and William Hill make Pietersen's side 4/6 favourites for the match and price the Superstars - led by West Indies captain Chris Gayle - at 11/10.

This week, the England skipper acknowledged that the big-money match is set to take place at a "really difficult time" in light of the current financial struggles.

Claiming that he will urge his players to be respectful of the global economic situation, Pietersen said: "There won't be any nonsense happening in and around or after that match."

However, punters could also make a killing by betting on the top run scorer, with the captain currently leading the market at 5/2 with William Hill.

Andrew Flintoff is priced at 4/1, Paul Collingwood 8/1 and Stuart Broad 50/1.
