Cole backed for X Factor success
Cheryl Cole is now 15/8 with William Hill to be the winning judge on The X Factor this year.

Despite rumours of tension between the Girls Aloud star and fellow judge Dannii Minogue, the bookmaker has shortened odds on Cole from 2/1 after receiving a series of wagers.

"Everything is working in Cheryl's favour, she has gone down well with the audience, she is the most glamorous and she is definitely the best backed," explained William Hill spokesperson Rupert Adams.

X Factor fans can back Simon Cowell to produce the winning act at 2/1, with Minogue available at 11/4 and Louis Walsh 4/1.

According to the Daily Mirror, Cole is set to be offered £1 million to sign up for another series of the ITV show after proving instantly popular with viewers.

Minogue was forced to deny rumours of a furious behind-the-scenes row between the two women recently, claiming that the four judges are "one big happy family".

William Hill offers 1/4 on this year's Christmas number one being performed by The X Factor's winning act.
