Sam Allardyce and Tony Adams have emerged as early frontrunners for the Portsmouth manager's job following the departure of Harry Redknapp to Tottenham.
Former Bolton and Newcastle boss Allardyce is the 6/4 favourite at William Hill with Adams priced at 5/2, while Paddy Power makes Redknapp's long-term assistant an evens bet and rates Allardyce at 7/2.
Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie said that the club will not rush into appointing a successor to Redknapp, who replaced Juande Ramos as manager at Spurs on Saturday.
"We'll take a deep breath and then have some conversations over the next few days," he told BBC Radio Five Live.
"It's only right and proper that we think about this and then go forward."
Other managers in the frame include Avram Grant - 7/1 with Ladbrokes - and Alan Curbishley, priced at 14/1 with Paddy Power.
Portsmouth face Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night, with Betfred offering 7/1 on an away win.
